I Love me a good garage sale....

My new found button collection!!!! I want to make some of those button bouquets that Nikki over at WhiMSy Love makes. So I got me a few buttons, oh just a few will do.
Two more thrifted sheets that I have turned both into skirts already! I used the 10 cent zippers and put those in both skirts! I still haven't cut into my Summer Skirt Sheet Swap, sheets yet, I'm too afraid, until I practice more. So I practiced on these instead. The top fabric was actually a FITTED sheet and I was still able to cut off the elastic and make a skirt out of it.
If you want to see what other people have made with their sheets that they swapped you can go to: http://flickr.com/groups/sskirtss/
The packaging on the zippers and bias tape is so VINTAGE looking that I almost felt guilty opening. The prices were listed on the outside 10 cents and 35 cents. I paid 10 cents for each, so 50 cents for the bias tape and zippers. I don't know how much they are in stores tho.
I also bought a bunch of light switch plate covers to cover with polymer clay. Yahoo, it was a good shopping day. Not pictured is also a Wiggles book for Miss A. and a pop up Winnie the Pooh toy that she really wanted, I thought she was too young for it, but it was only 75 cents, so I splurged!

I have a huge jar of buttons like that... it is so much fun to go through them from time to time.

My garage sale find this weekend was a toaster oven for $.50! Dunno if it even works or keeps a reasonable temp, but for that, it's worth a shot. It's for home, not the store :)

Uhh yah, can't beat a 50 cent toaster oven! I love all of the garage sales this time of year! I called JAs today for you. How much do I owe you for the patterns? And when do you want me to stop in to exchange and Do I have a class Monday night? Lets play 20 questions...

Dang, I was there, but not working - I bet it was you when I was in the office and said "I'm not punched in - I'm not working." The patterns are just under 5 (5 - 15% + 8%, whatever that is).

Monday night - I don't even remember what it is supposed to be, so I'm guessing not. Just looked it up - from what I recall no to that one, yes to the one on the 21st. Let me double check on Monday though. I think we also have some kids for the clay class. I've been carrying the patterns around, meaning to swing by to drop them off and never remember when I'm done with whatever I'm doing :(

Wait til you see the cover I made for my calendar today - I'm pretty psyched about it - similar to the purse I made last month. I also sewed a bag similar to one in the current Sew Simple magazine, but re-sized (unsuccessfully) so rather than being a knitting tote, it'll be a lunch bag instead. One of these days I'll actually take some pics and put them in my blog.
